Let’s be honest: as a creator, the biggest obstacle isn't running out of ideas. It’s the invisible safeguards we set up around our communication , the relentless inner critic , and that exhausting instinct to create just to appease an audience.  

Comedic Expressions is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary workshop engineered to tear down those barriers, help you find your true story , and build the unshakeable confidence to create completely on your own terms.  

Led by Rob Santos, creator of Beige and Nationally Credentialed Teaching Artist for Arts for Learning and Young Audiences —this experience flips the script on traditional performance workshops. First things first: this is no longer a stand-up comedy class. It is an intensive creative space built for writers , actors , public speakers , and performers across every medium who want to unearth the funny, compelling, and deeply human components embedded in their daily lives.  

Humor lets you go places other genres can’t reach, but tapping into it requires a real framework. That’s why Rob weaves intentional educational frameworks directly into the craft. Through the power of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), you will build acute self-awareness , social awareness , and decision-making clarity across your entire creative cycle. At the exact same time, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles are integrated to dismantle the mental friction points your brain invents. By stripping away those blocks, you gain authentic agency over your writing, learning, and performing , finding a seamless flow without judging your own process.  

You can drop the self-judgment while pushing your work to be sharper and more intentional than ever before. You won’t do it in a vacuum, either. Working alongside an engaged group of peers , you’ll master the skills to write from your raw perspective and walk out the door with a tangible, actionable blueprint for your next steps.
